100% Pro-Choice... on the Basic Human Right of Self-Defense!

The issue of self-defense cuts across racial, ethnic, religious, and political lines. We believe that all people have the right to protect themselves and their families as they see fit.

At least 17 million women own firearms in the United States.  And, approximately 44 percent of adult women either own or have access to firearms, according to the National Research Opinion Center,

About 2.5 million people defend themselves against violent crime every year - with firearms.   On average, that’s 6,850 times per day - most times without a shot ever being fired!  Firearms are used more than 60 times more often to protect the lives of honest citizens than to take lives.

Owning a firearm is not for every woman. But as many as 200,000 women use a gun every year to defend themselves against sexual assault. That's 547 times per day!

A man can kill a woman with whatever he has at hand, but usually, she can only resist him successfully with a gun. Don Kates, a civil rights attorney who specializes in firearms issues, cites a Detroit study that shows that three-quarters of wives who killed their spouses were not even charged - prosecutors found their acts necessary to protect their lives or their children's lives.

Yet there are those who desire to either take away or severely infringe upon your basic human right to self-defense under the banner of "common sense". Leaving honest, hard-working citizens at the mercy of violent criminals is sensible?

It’s time for ALL WOMEN to be heard on this issue.
