WOMEN’S GROUPS HEADED FOR A SHOWDOWN OVER GUNS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Lakeway, Texas (April 19, 2004) – On Mothers’ Day, May 9th, the Second Amendment
Sisters (SAS) will be standing up for the basic human right of self-defense for
women and others.
The SAS event in Washington, DC, is called the Second Amendment Freedoms for
Everyone Rally, commonly known as the S.A.F.E.R. event. The event is being held
at Freedom Plaza, on Pennsylvania Avenue, between 13th and 14th Streets,
starting at 11am and concluding at 3pm.
The so-called “Million” Mom March (MMM), an anti-gun group, will be holding a
rally in Washington, DC at the same time.
The people’s God-given right to keep and bear arms, as articulated in the Second
Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America (a part of the
Bill of Rights), is being assaulted on a daily basis by well-funded anti-gun
organizations.
Unbelievably, the extremist MMM is asking Congress to renew and strengthen the
so-called “Assault Weapons Ban”; a law that even the Centers for Disease Control
admits has had no effect on crime. The gun-grabbers are also shooting to
reinstate the 5-day Brady waiting period for all gun purchases, which has proven
itself to be utterly worthless since its inception.
Among the scheduled speakers for the S.A.F.E.R. event are Shemane Nugent, Niger
Innis, Suzanna Gratia-Hupp, and Julia Gorin, all outspoken supporters of Second
Amendment rights. For the full list of speakers and further details about the
S.A.F.E.R. event, please check the SAS website at www.2asisters.org.
