BRADY-FRENCH EMBASSY ACTION ITEM #2
JULY 19, 2005
We hope that you've
taken a moment to write to the French Embassy to let them know
that you're not happy with their role in the Brady Campaign's
anti-rights fundraiser. If you haven't, you still have time! The
event is set for September 28, 2005.
Now here's something
else you can do. Our Alaska State Coordinator, Tammy Means, has
written to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to voice our
concerns about the French government interjecting themselves in
US domestic policy. Sec. Rice has declared her strong support of
Second Amendment rights, and this is a wonderful opportunity to
bring this issue to her attention. Tammy's letter is below, with
just one minor alteration so you can personalize it. Please use
it and distribute it, and let's keep the French government out
of our business!

Condoleezza Rice
Secretary of State
U.S. Department of State
2201 C Street NW
Washington, DC 20520
Dear Madam
Secretary,
I am
writing with great concern over the involvement of the
French government in the internal political affairs of the
United States. Specifically, I am concerned about the recent
news reports of the French embassy’s support of an upcoming
fund-raiser to be hosted for the Brady Campaign.
As you are
aware, the Brady campaign adamantly supports the dismantling
of our Second Amendment rights and is now aligning
themselves with a government who has not been friendly to
the U.S. Such attempted interference on the part of the
French government is highly suspect.
As a member
and supporter of Second Amendment Sisters, a national
organization dedicated to preserving and protecting those
rights which our forefathers fought so valiantly to defend,
I ask you on behalf of my membership and millions of
Americans everywhere to speak promptly and forcefully with
the French Ambassador concerning this matter.
Thank you
for your continued active and vocal support of our Second
Amendment rights.
Kindest
Regards,
(your
name)

Thanks, and let's get those letters rolling!
BRADY-FRENCH EMBASSY ACTION ITEM #1
JULY 12, 2005
The Brady Campaign is holding a
Birthday Celebration for
Art Buchwald on September 28, 2005. But it's not just a party - it's
a fundraiser for the anti-rights organization. Tickets for the event are
$250, and sponsorships range from $1000 to $50,000.
Okay, you're thinking, it's a
fundraiser. So what? Everyone has them. Well, this fundraiser is being
hosted by the French Embassy in Washington DC. For all the complaining
that the French government has done about the United States involving
itself in the affairs of other nations, they seem to have no problem
with aiding and abetting an organization bent on destroying the
constitutional rights of Americans.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
Send or fax your own letter to the French Embassy. Let them know you’re
not happy with their helping the Brady Bunch raise money to destroy your
rights! Here’s the address and fax number:
Ambassador Jean-David Levitte
Embassy of France
4101 Reservoir Road NW
Washington, DC 20007
FAX # 202-944-6166 or 202-944-6047
Below is a sample letter you can send. Please, make the effort to send a
hard-copy letter or fax; it will make a much bigger impact than email!
-----------
Mr. Ambassador:
I am a supporter of the nearly 100 million gun owners in the United
States who oppose your collaboration with the Brady Campaign and its
efforts to undermine the rights of American citizens.
The Brady Campaign uses its funds to lobby for legislation that places
severe restrictions on gun ownership in the United States. Studies have
shown that gun control only serves to increase the rates of violent
crime because criminals will not obey these laws; the restrictions that
the Brady Campaign calls for only effect those who choose to obey them.
Law-abiding citizens such as myself will therefore be at the mercy of
those to whom laws means nothing.
I hereby ask that you withdraw your support for the Brady Campaign’s
fundraising effort.
Sincerely,
(add your name here)
